Soak up the last of the colour in the garden and these pleasant temperatures we are still enjoying. With news of the snow storms out west and various parts of the US, we know it's coming!
The beautiful and very hardy Japanese anemone is blooming still, much loved by the bees. There are three bunches that are well established here and spreading.
I need to look at our stock of Vitamin D, B12, C, etc. and remind Hubby to get out his light box (he is slightly affected by SAD). Flu season is just ahead and I'm always mindful for him. Not much talk of flu shots just yet though.
I must check out Crabapple Hill Studio's latest autumn designs...just released. I follow Meg on Facebook and she has been tantalizing us with little snippets of what she's been working on. This link will take you to her newest releases page.
Still casting about for a fall quilting project. Saw this and thought pretty cute.
Scrappy and it uses fusible applique which makes this an easy project. All the details and tutorial are available here from the amazing Allison at Cluck Cluck Sew.
Also found this tutorial on how to hand piece pumpkins from wonderful Patty at the happening Elm Street Quilts site. A row of these in the smallest size would be very cute hand stitching.
I do want to make a start on some autumn stitching this week. It's a busy week but I should be able to find a little time to at least make a start on something.
Here is my scarf-to-be or "scarf of many colours" as Hubby calls it....miniature granny squares, so far...The darks are purples, brown and black and the colours are far more muted than this photo is showing.
Plan to get this finished this month, that is October before November and the white stuff flies. How about that for a goal??
I hope to get at least 10 more of the flag blocks finished this month. Yeah, this is doable for sure. Here are a few more in pinks I made.
And I mustn't forget the start on something for autumn/ Halloween. So October is shaping up in more ways than one.

Oddly enough I was reading what you just wrote about flu shots...and the news was on in the living room....and they were talking about the need for flu shots. Small world!! Those anemones look spectacular. I hope they can continue to bloom for a good while yet!
Hi Jocelyn! Your little Dresden plate blocks - they kind of look like turkeys don't they? Can you see it - it reminds me of the handprint turkey I got from Dominic last year. I just love the different backgrounds on those. And your little granny squares are so cute. They are crocheted, I'm guessing? I love all the fun colors in that scarf. Pumpkins! Yes, very timely and can be out for two whole months which is a win in my book. All of these plus any handwork will keep you busy for sure. Thanks for linking up. ~smile~ Roseanne
Oh yes, flu shots should be on my list, too, Jocelyn! But on a much more fun note, so are those hand-pieced pumpkins! You are so good about finding and sharing so many fun project ideas. Have a wonderful week!
The Witch's Boot is Crabapple Hill, I believe. I have the pattern tucked away in my "Someday" box. Haven't quite mastered the crayon bit, though. Don't you love the may mums grow in a mound?
Oh no, flu season is not fun, but that witch's boot is a fun one!
There are so many adorable pumpkin patterns around right now and I want to make all of them! My hubby got his flu shot last week and I dread my turn--I always have a bad reaction. Hearing about all that snow has me terrified--I don't think I'm ready for it yet--lol!
You do amazing work.
Jocelyn - so impressed with all the projects you have in the planning/progress. We are one of those places that got snow (just a little) and below freezing temperatures that have frozen all but the hardiest of plants. So enjoy that anemone while you can! We won't be getting any mums this year, or decorating for Halloween since we are going out of town. Sigh. Always next year!
I made this treepillow myself, a lovely project.
Nana
You have some nice goals lined up.
Crabapple Hill has some wonderful patterns, I picked up Sweet Violette while traveling in July. Your scarf and flag blocks are looking good. Hope you land on just the right Fall project. Happy Stitching!
Wow and WOW! Great projects and I love your scarf! The flag quilt and dresens are coming along really well! You are so productive and inspire me so much! Thanks Jocelyn!
Great projects you have going. October will fly by, just watch it!! I'll be glad to get back to sewing. We have another new baby due in January!
xx, Carol
All really great projects. I especially love Patty's pumpkins and Allison's fall pillow.
Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilt One Monthly Goal and good luck with your project. (Thanks for sharing my pumpkins!)
That chrysanthemum is gorgeous!
