Our little pond last week...with all the rain lately it is overflowing.
That made me think of this quote by Rumi. I certainly won't be swimming into my little pond as it is the domain of so many frogs, turtles and other critters.
Am I ever happy this one is done, my Autumn Sampler Quilt, as Marion who doesn't have a blog, suggested I call it. In 2020... It only took a year; well not really but two falls to get it all quilted and ready for use. Too bad it is a dark and gloomy day for its photo shoot. It is 50 x 52 which makes it a great lap quilt, of which you can never have too many. I was pleased there were almost no puckers to deal with but I had used a heck of a lot of basting through the three layers. I do love how squishy and comforting hand quilting makes a quilt feel.
It featured so many of my loves- vintage, embroidery, dresdens, maple leaves and the pretty autumn Fig Tree & Co. fabrics. I wonder could I (should I ?) make one like this for each of the seasons. There are certainly enough free patterns and ideas floating around the net for material for each season. Me hmmmm, dreaming on....
And so we start to turn our thoughts to holiday/winter stitching...
I just came across a gorgeous line of Christmas fabric and thought some of you would like it too. Rifle Paper Co Holiday Classics. Isn't it pretty?
Rachel at Stitched in Color made this beautiful penny patch patchwork quilt using this line and I just had to check out the fabric when I saw her quilt pop up in my feed.Oh so many stitchy possibilities! For today, a rainy Sunday Halloween, I will be content to sit and stitch and dream a little too.
And feel so grateful for the sensibility, ability and time to do all of that too.
Grateful too for link up parties...Kathy's Quilts, My Sunday Snapshot, Love Laugh Quilt. Small Quilts and Doll Quilts and Quilting is More Fun Than Housework.

Well done on finishing your quilt! It looks lovely.
I like your embroidery,
xx
beautiful bundle of fabric you have there. And I love your fall leaves all scattered about on the ground - we have nothing like that here - maybe in a couple more weeks!
What an amazing quilt finish. I love all the various blocks in it So happy you were able to finish it. I admire the set up for quilting it; your warm weather makes me jealous.
Beautiful cross stitch. Where did you find such a neat pattern?
I really love your Halloween quilt. The stitchery and all the various blocks of patchwork are wonderful. So happy were able to finish it for Halloween. I am jealous of your outdoor stitching. And your cross stitch is lovely and fall friendly as well. Wherever did you find such a neat pattern?
Great finish on your Halloween quilt. Love nature photos! Happy stitching!
Your quilt is gorgeous. Great work. x
I love your quilt! Happy Halloween!
Your Halloween quilt is just beautiful, Jocelyn! I'm interested in the spider webs you quilted. Did you draw those on freehand? I think my Halloween quilt needs spiderwebs for quilting! Hope you're having a lovely Sunday!
Beautiful quilt finish. I love vintage embroidery and Fig Tree fabrics too. Rifle paper fabrics are so rich, love them. We are in severe drought in California so it is nice to see water that isn't ocean!
Your quilt is very pretty and that is the perfect name for it. I really like how your cross-stitch is coming along. Enjoy your stitching.
Love the quilting on your Fall sampler. Looks like a perfect quilt to snuggle under with a cup of cocoa.
Beautiful work on that quilt.
Great finish.
Loving seeing all the Autumnal colours at your place.
I love your fall/halloween quilt. It does look soft and cozy with your hand quilting. Always the best choice if time permits. It has been raining every day here lately and now snow is in the forecast for midweek. Time for winter quilts!
It's always a great feeling to have a finished quilt! Yours does look great on the outdoor photo shoot.
Autumn Sampler Quilt ia a beautiful quilt, love all and each detail. Great work Jocelyn. Love seeing your frame under the tree. Autunm is full of color.
Have a great week.
Congratulations on your lovely quilt finish, Jocelyn!!
Loved seeing all your projects.
Congratulations on your lovely Halloween quilt finish! Those rifle paper fabrics are gorgeous and I look forward to seeing what you do with them. Enjoy your week!
I love your Autumn Sampler Quilt! It's gorgeous! I vote yes on doing seasonal lap quilts!!! Love the Rifle paper co. fabric! Have a wonderful day Jocelyn!
Lovely finish ... yay!! I love your Autumn Quakers piece. The colors are scrumptious! Happy November!
I love your spider web quilting! Such a lovely bunch of holiday fabrics that doesn't scream HOLIDAY!
Autumn Sampler is beautiful, and yes lap quilts are just part of the family, right? I love your idea of one for each season. Cute fabrics, and I love Christmas fabrics best of all. Your stitches are so pretty on that Autumn pattern!
What a lovely quilt. The colors are much softer than most of the fall color palettes I've been seeing, and that is what I find especially pretty.
I love your sampler quilt! And I agree that Rifle Paper Christmas fabric line is so beautiful!
I have been so tempted to purchase the Autumn Quaker, but holding on. Love that Halloween quilt! Our trees are still green and we have green grass! So unusual for South Texas. I will dream along with you! Hugs.
What gorgeous Christmas fabric. Love the colours and patterns.
God bless.
Great finish! And that line of Christmas fabric is definitely drool-worthy.
This is beautiful. I so lack motivation these days.
Hi Jocelyn! Marker months - that's a neat way to describe November and March. They seem to both be rather long, too, don't you think? What always strikes me about these two months specifically is that in the Fall, 35 feels freezing. Yet in Spring, 35 is nice and warm. Odd that way. Groceries are so much more expensive than just a year ago, and the shortages are crazy. Yesterday, I couldn't get a loaf of bread - there was no overnight baker (worker shortages). ~smile~ Roseanne
The quilt is absolutely fantastic! I am in awe of anyone who can craft.
