Eight Everyday Tiny Wonders

I didn't look far to find things to be grateful for and happy about this week. Here is my list.

When I got to the bottom of my bowl of oatmeal and saw a beautiful cardinal...The relief I felt when I found the pom pom Neddy chewed off my woolen cap-  after I thought he ate it!

When I saw this beautiful painting and it stopped me in my tracks because back when I was trying to paint I thought my desire to outline things was only for cartooning. And I do love tulip shapes in paintings, drawings, quilts, etc.
The Blue Jug by Samuel John Peploe. (Do you love these colours as much as I do?)

When my ex included something in my Christmas gift he knows I will love.

When I got this Christmas card and wanted to keep it because it features all the critters I love and have sighted right on our own property.
When the juncos arrived and stayed because I kept lots of old garden vegetation for them to have a nibble of something good during these cold days.
When I got this new small appliance, a waffle maker, to add to my little collection, and the delicious breakfast for supper we enjoyed.
Having something so cheery, all this pretty brilliant red and white scrappiness in my lap...

and especially thankful for being retired providing me all this uninterrupted time to lay hand stitches when the spirit moves me...
Hope your day is filled with tiny, monumental things too.

I love your tiny things! Aren't the juncos beautiful birds? I love seeing them in our yard, too. Glad you're enjoying hand quilting on that beautiful quilt!

Great list of likes. I love my waffle maker, and the recipe that my ex MIL gave me years ago is still a winner. Oh your cardinal at the end of the bowl is fun and your Carolina lilies quilt, and the picture with the tulips and blue vase what great colors.

I, too, would have at least 8 in my thanks list down here, not one Red Cardinal, not even a tassel,( thank goodness it wasn't swallowed ) But lots of garden delights, and indoor ones too.

Hi Jocelyn! Oh Neddy! You can't eat tassels - those will definitely not agree with your intestines! That tulip painting is gorgeous. It is reminding us that Spring will come and that it won't be long before we are enjoying actual tulips. Right?!! I hope you're staying safe and taking care. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Whta a lovely post to read this morning. So many good things! Yes, I love all the color in the Peploe piece, especially on these cold winter days when we need bright colors! Juncos are one of my favorite birds to watch; I love their little hop as they scratch for food.

Thank you for showing us that even the little things are ones to be thankful for. Sometimes we forget or don't notice all the blessings all around us. Your list was wonderful. I'm going to make my own lists from now on.

Ooh - fantastic likes! How lucky to find the pom. I love the tulips in the painting. That card is great - I can see why you'd keep it. I haven't seen any foxes recently, but we certainly have the rest of those in our yard, too! Our finch feeder has been packed with juncos this winter.

Thank you once again for a lovely start to my day - one that is going to be stormy and snow filled! Always good to be reminded how lucky I am for a wonder-filled life🙂.

I believe that is the essence of life - to feel happy with such "everyday" things that many people take for granted. I must say, though, your list shows many things that other people unfortunately are not able to see where they live. But then again I am sure they may see things that u don't. Thanks for the reminder, though. And the gorgeous pictures of your surroundings! Love them. Glad we don't have such winters, though the scenery is stunning.

So much to be grateful, the juncos arrives in Ottawa we just knew winter had arrived. When they left we knew spring was here. Love the red quilt, perfect for keeping warm and cosy.

Ahhh. . . the Juncos. We've had quite a few here lately. I didn't even know there was such a thing as a Dark eyed Junco until Christmas day. I love to learn new things. I save Christmas cards like you. A friend gave me a card with the most darling snowman on the front. I put it with my display of snowman and kept it up all holiday season. That's a sweet little owl.
