Here in my rosy red flannel pyjamas...let the lounging begin! Maybe this is the way all New Year's should begin.
I just put the mixing for molasses raisin bread in my Bread machine so a lovely aroma should fill the house later on. Recipe I used is here at Bread Dad.
The Cardinals visit my feeders late afternoon at almost dusk which makes getting a good photo of them tricky. I was very happy to capture this fellow bouncing about the branches one morning.
I especially love it when I get a new plant or two as gifts to add to my winter indoor garden. This is white polka dot plant and in back, Kalanchoe in bloom.
Our New Year's puzzle, The Country Diary of an Edwardian Woman, winter edition, is open and ready to go. I was happy to see so many of the critters featured are sighted here on our property.
My happy Elm Street OMG for January. My scrappy QAYG Courthouse Steps. Time to get this one done and dusted so it is definitely on this week's To Do List.
Below is the front where two large pieces have been joined with machine stitching (where the safety pin is poking through). This red has been a frustrating colour to show...the true red is between the brightness above and darkness below. It is French General red.

that is some difference on the shade of red depending on lighting - exactly the problem I have with the black border on my quilt that shows up as light gray sometimes and is near black! Nothing like getting comfy in flannel pajamas or sweat pants on a cold winter morning. That looks like a pretty puzzle - I am poor at jigsaw puzzles and they stump me too much
You have some good projects to keep you busy during the cold days of winter, happy stitching!

Loved reading your post. What a fabulous photo of the cardinal. We don’t have them in the UK so I love seeing photos of these beautiful birds on North American blogs. Your little red trees are great. A good choice of block for the RSC 2022. The cardinal would enjoy hiding amongst those, natural camouflage!

Wow, what a difference in the shades of red in your quilt. I have the same thing happen with purples and blues for some reason.

It's so disappointing when you can't get a good depiction of the true color in a photo. It's a nice project either way. Lots of fun reds to work with!
That bread sounds yummy, I've clicked on over and found their recipe for the breakfast version which has cinnamon. Your QAYG Courthouse Steps is gorgeous, and the little trees are so cute. Love all the reds you have going in your post, especially the PJs. :)

I agree some days it is ok to just hang out in your jammies.....since I am on day 7 of work because my fill in is out sick (waiting for the verdict COVID Or not) I have been hanging in my jammie pants most of the day. The bread sounds yummy, your plants are gorgeous. My polka dot plant is very sad looking, I just can't seem to find the right spot for it to thrive. Love your courthouse steps quilt and isn't it funny how some colors just don't photograph well? Oh and as usual you have a great pic of the cardinal, and the puzzle looks like loads of fun.

You really are "rocking the red"! Red General fabric is so luscious. I'm not a yeast bread maker but molasses raisin sounds decadent. Yum! We don't have cardinals in our area either. They are so pretty!
