Tony and I are enjoying our Advent Calendars from daughter. Mine is the marshmallow one and Tony's the chocolate. The marshmallow items are a small and delicious square, not enough to make you feel guilty for eating it but just big enough to taste moreish.
I've made great progress on the Friendship Stars quilt. I've hand quilted around the stars and blocks and added extra lines too because this will need to go in the wash a lot. It fit well on my floor quilting stand and was quite manageable.
Bright sun showing what that background fabric looks like with its million tiny stars. I quilted with a variegated thread that had the colours of the rainbow.
I'd tested those bright fabrics for colour stay and they were fine but I will give it a wash when it's all done. Just have the binding to sew which will take up most of my stitching time this week.
Our Ned had his neutering operation and we've been coddling the little patient. He was a sad pup when we picked him up, quite groggy and disoriented. He whimpered a lot the first night which didn't stop even when I slept on the floor with him.
However, the next morning he was his old self, bright and behaving normally. He doesn't know yet but there will be no ball playing for two weeks so that will be another blow. And I've lost my walking pal as well. He made great friends at the vets as all the workers loved him, thought him gentle and sweet which is what we think too. Naturally, LOL.
I'm off my days this week just like last. I'm also experiencing some difficulty commenting on some blogs, no doubt an issue with this old Acer. I'll soon be switching totally to my new one. I love being a part of the blogging world and am happy and thankful to be able to keep my blog going.
Meanwhile also happy to link with Texas Quilt Gal, Quilt Fabrication, The Inquiring Quilter, Wendy's Quilts and More, Alycia Quilts, Quilting is More Fun Than Housework and Brian's Home Blog.

Poor Ned. I hope he recovers well.
What sweet Advent calendars, and a nice gift from your daughter! That is the perfect background fabric for your friendship star blocks, too. Poor Ned - no ball or walks for two weeks - that is really not fair. You'll miss your walking partner!
I remember that your daughter sends you both Advent Calendars. I think that is so sweet! Literally in this case. Chocolates and Marshmallow. Fun! Fun!
Glad Ned is mostly back to normal. It will be hard not to let him chase a ball or walk with you, but 2 weeks will go by quickly and you both will be back to doing what you love.
I hope you plan to show the friendship star quilt in all it's glory when the binding is complete. All those stars make good background fabric. It will be gorgeous.
I have the marshmallow advent calendar too! Isn't it fun! I love the variegated thread on your quilt.
Oh, poor Ned! Sending you a big cuddle from Australia, hope you feel better soon.
Poor Ned. I so remember bringing them home and feeling so helpless. He's sure a handsome pup.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Healing scritches to Ned. ♥
Poor Ned. He'll be a happier dog when this is behind him. My daughter had a Tea Advent Calendar last year. Wonder what kind she got this year. Keep up the nice quilting!
My daughter recently had her lab neutered, and that two-week downtime left him with a lot of pent up energy! Uffda. I hope it goes well for Neddy - and for you! Those advent calendars look like fun!
I am wishing your sweet dog a speedy recovery and you all a magical holiday season!
Yummy Advent calendars! Awww poor Ned, sweet baby, glad he is better. Your friendship star quilt is beautiful, love the variegated thread. I suspect Blogger is just as guilty as your Acer! So many people have issues with commenting these days. Thank you for sharing with us at To Do Tuesday!
Ned sure is a cutie! The two weeks will go by fast!
Your quilt sure is pretty and Advent Calendars are always fun. Oh Ned, I know you'll be frustrated with no ball playing but the time will pass before you know it. Enjoy your new computer! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
The doughnut of shame. I hope Ned recovers quickly. A marshmallow advent calendar! I think a Lindt calendar would be delicious. :-)
Jocelyn - I joined in I Like Thursday today! Your bowl with little cushions is adorable. Boy, I wish someone would give me a marshmallow Advent calendar - I love marshmallow! Glad Ned is recovering - that's quite the dedication to sleep on the floor with him!
Hi Jocelyn! I am happy that you are able to move to a new computer and continue your blog! I would miss you terribly. Ned looks so sweet, and what an improvement over the old cone dogs used to wear. He looks quite fetching in his blue ring. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
Just finished sending Christmas cards today. Phew! Next, I have to wrap. This time of year is so busy. You got so much snow! We've had a storm here for the last few days but it was rain with just a little snow. Love your new project! I hope Ned feels better!
Those sound like fun advent calendars.
and poor Ned... he needs a recovery calendar to keep him entertained for the next few weeks... Poor baby
Ned looks so sweet! I hope he's feeling better soon and playing ball. Thanks for sharing your quilting on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.
What a sweet post--all the way around. Calendars, quilt and puppy with his sad puppy eyes. (A pillow seems better than a cone of shame.) I hope we get to see the rest of the quilt when it's all finished. It looks like the perfect project for this time of year.
Awww, poor sad puppy! Get better skritches are definitely in order.
