Friday in Photos

A recap of some things here at the Wooden House I enjoyed this week...

I can always pick this one out of a scurry of squirrels because of its' outstanding tail! Learned a new word...scurry. No, not a spring animal which is LeeAnna's prompt this week but a regular year round visitor.

Here is a mug rug I just stitched for someone I love and am so grateful she is in my life.

Don't paint my nails often but when I do I usually use clear nail polish and this one has shiny flecks in it that I like.
Here is my latest lunch out, Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, something I also love. Do you like Eggs Benedict? This was a favourite of Mom's to make for special breakfasts.
And last but certainly not least, happy stitchy mail....
The dreaming about and desire to stitch is still with me, now into my seventies. I hope I never lose it.
And I hope you have a wonderful weekend with time to do the things you love.

Those dreams and the reality of stitching will be with you always, I am in my eighties and still dream and sometimes that is a reality too.

I don't know why but I have never made eggs Benedict I'm not much at cooking breakfast I usually grab toast and a banana or a bowl of yogurt, fruit and homemade granola topping. Occasionally scrabbled eggs or pancakes/waffles but not often

Eggs Benedict is a very popular brunch cafe item here and my daughter and granddaughters adore it. I occasionally order it but to their horror I order mine with medium done poached eggs, dont like the yolks oozing everywhere. Plus I love smoked salmon too.

I love your squirrel photos, Jocelyn! That is quite a tail on that one. Your eggs benedict look delicious - I have ordered something like that when out for breakfast and enjoyed it. Sweet mug rug, and such a nice way to give someone a symbol of your love. Enjoy stitching that woodpecker design - it sure looks like fun!

I am not a big Eggs Benedict person, but I do love those type of cubed hashbrowns.

This weekend will be spent working on the one freezer inventory, and spending time knitting away.

God bless.

I don't think I've ever tried Eggs Benedict. They look good! Can't wait to see you work on the Woodpecker!

I don't think I ever had eggs benedict, not something that is on the menu here in the Netherlands, but they look yummy! Love the squirrel with the curly tail. So cute!
Also cute is the woodpecker cross stitch, I am sure you will enjoy making it! Have a good weekend.

such a red tail on a grey squirrel. Ooh - sparkly clear nail polish. I don't polish my nails, but I'd consider using that! Mmm. Eggs Benedict is delicious. Lot of good stuff all around.

Your squirrel friend has quite the tail floof! What a lovely mug rug you made for your special someone. I love that nail polish! I love anything with metallic or flecks in it. :D I'll have to look for it. My nails have been ragged for several months, but I want to get them back to "polish worthy". My husband LOVES eggs benedict, me - not so much. He loves that sauce, and I'm ashamed to say I've never made it for him. I've never lost the yearning to stitch, not since I learned to crochet in my early 20s and embroider in my 30s. I don't get much of it actually done, but I still love to "think" about doing it! :D

totally agree...the desire to quilt and stitch is as strong now in my life as when i first began embroidery nearly 70 years ago....at this point i'm concentrating on finishing up things but can't resist starting a new but small project every now and then...my soul is fed with needle and thread...

I've had eggs benedict a few times but it's not something we have very often. Resident Chef makes his own version.
That's a pretty spectacular squirrel tail...never seen one quite that fluffy.

You had a great week of LIKES. You've selected a nice chart to stitch. Cottage Gardens has beautiful designs.

I have never had eggs benedict. It just wasn't a thing growing up. I am pretty sure I would enjoy smoked salmon, though.

What a unique squirrel. I really love it! And oooh, shiny nail polish. I rarely polish mine either, but when I do it's a sparkly polish! Your mug rug is adorable and I really like that cross stitch pattern. I don't think I've ever had Eggs Benedict, but it looks good! Thanks for linking up with Monday Musings!

I don't do needlepoint at all but I do have a pair of pileated woodpeckers that live on the hill with me. I love watching them. You seem so happy just doing your own thing and that is a joy to see.
